Jen Long is one of Best Fit’s oldest friends, and certainly one of our busiest. As well as presenting her essential Introducing show, the hirsute saviour of Radio 1 somehow finds time to run the wonderfully named Kissability – a limited run cassette label in association with Transgressive.
Last night Huw Stephens gave Kissability’s next release its first radio play, and today we are pleased to give the song its online premiere. Among Brothers are a Cardiff quintet whose theatrical, string-heavy indie immediately brings to mind Denmark’s Efterklang. ‘Keep’ demonstrates the band’s scrapbook sound, apparently constructed from snippets of English folk and cuttings from Youthmovies’ Albion-tinged rock songbook.
‘Keep’ will be released on 9 July through Kissability. In the meantime, listen to the track below.
