Alive By Night put the '80s front and centre with impeccable funk track "I Tried"
"This is how we think music should sound. raised on the' 80s, bringing it back", say Alive By Night. The newcomers aren't here to revolutionise but to revive, and first release "I Tried" is about as good as it gets.
Deceptive in its first few seconds with muffled, modern electro synths, "I Tried" soon jolts into action with an '80s feast - all slap bass, funk strums, infectious grooves and polished, soulful vocals from guest singer Yvonne Park.
There's nothing overly remarkable in "I Tried's" make-up save for its ability to transport you to the nightclubs of yore, but this knack for recreation is something to be celebrated."I Tried" is fun, punchy, classic songwriting from a duo surely poised to set dancefloors alight for anyone who wants to let loose or revel in a decade past.
