You might remember Abadabad, either for their excellent recent single ‘All The Bros Say’ or for their penchant for absurd names. The Massachusetts band seemed to have melancholic surf-rock sewn up with ‘…Bros’, but their latest track gives the sense of a band with broader horizons.
‘Will She Remember Me’ is less spring reverb jaunt, more distant piano lilt. Its deceptively simple haunted-music-box melody provides the instant hook, but it is the phantasmic vocal melodies that ultimately reel you in, coming off like Grizzly Bear being subjected to the thumbscrew.
‘Will She Remember Me’ is taken from the excellent forthcoming EP The Wild, out 11 September. Stream the track below.
