Listen: Zun Zun Egui - "African Tree" (Andrew Hung Hidden Sweetness Mix) [Premiere]
Fuck Button's Andrew Hung has remixed "African Tree" by Bristol-based experimental lot Zun Zun Egui, and it's marvellous. We have the premiere today on Best Fit.
Speaking about the remix, Hung said: "Zun Zun Egui are a bit of a joy to remix because they have so many juxtapositions going on in their music that remixing them is just a matter of recontextualising any of those elements. Obviously I went for "Streets Of Philadelphia" meets DJ Shadow."
Twisting the stems into something otherworldly, spiritual and musically adept, Hung's rework is an inspiring and uplifting listen.
Zun Zun Egui's second album Shackles’ Gift is out now via Bella Union. See tour dates below.
