Malaysian star, Yuna, made her US bow a couple of years back, going on to make caramel sweet pop licks like ‘Live Your Life’ with Pharrell Williams among others.
This time around, the singer-songwriter teams up with one of 2013′s most sought-after producers, Rhye’s Robin Hannibal, on new tune, ‘Falling’. Clockwork percussion, wavy synths and pensive strings form the basis of a fruitful bond between her sensitive, sparkling chorus and sweetly catty shrugs, ‘you don’t have to call me, I’ve turned my phone off’. She’s happy to forget, but perhaps not so keen on forgiving.
Yuna’s second full-length record, Nocturnal, is out on 29 October via Verve Music Group.
