We have something of a soft spot for Ben Howard. While we’re deeply suspicious these days of anything with too much kick drum, he’s remained one of Communion Records more intriguing talents. And while we’re not massive Carly Rae Jepsen fans per se, that song is a solid contender for the best in disposable, modern pop music – and it’s a credit to the Devon-based singer-songwriter that he can somehow bring forth the most unsettling darkness from it in his Live Lounge cover.
