Will Joseph Cook unveils another impressive track from his 'You Jump I Run' EP
From his first release back in February we've been keeping a keen eye on the development of Will Joseph Cook. "Streets Of Paris" was followed-up by another gem in "The Message"; if the former laid a marker down, the latter proved it was no fluke and the 17 year old had our attention.
Today the Kent singer continues to display songwriting talent beyond his teenage years as he releases a debut EP You Jump I Run, via Duly Noted Records which plays home to the aforementioned pair of tracks, as well as this third impressive new cut.
Once again there's a sugary poppiness to proceedings as glistening electric guitar and busy, clicking percussion drive the action forward below WJC's languid vocal tones. The work brings to mind the likes of Mystery Jets, Phoenix and Two Door Cinema Club and if he continues to release this impressive brand of indie rock, there's no reason why the newcomer can't join these ranks in the not too distant future.
Steaming below, ahead of an intimate London show at Dalston's cosy Servant Jazz Quarters tomorrow evening, "Daisy Chains" proves that Will Joseph Cook is a real one to watch and we're doing so with pleasure.
