whenyoung reveal a deftly-executed slice of anthemic indie pop on “Never Let Go”
Dublin-based whenyoung uplift with a message of hope on their latest single “Never Let Go”.
Emphatic and uplifting, “Never Let Go” layers shimmering guitars to form towering choruses that are a far cry from the claustrophobia often associated with such a phrase. While its deliberately slow pacing might find it neglected as far as indie discos go, its gleaming production and galvanising introspection makes for essential listening. It’s difficult not to walk away from the track feeling empowered.
“It’s a song about mental health and hope,” explains frontwoman Aoife Power. “It’s a message to let people know that you can share your pain with others. It's a reminder that someone is always there for you even in the darkest times. There is always a reason to not let go.”
