Hot on the heels of bewitching kiss-off “Bleed”, WENS serves up hypnotic new single “If”.
Ten years of harmonising along at home pays off, as the subtly layered vocals on “If”’s chorus perfectly demonstrate. The new cut comes complete with yearning lyrics and a deliciously punchy chorus, still swirled together with the analogue synth sound WENS poured her teenage years into mastering.
“I accidentally caught feelings,” WENS admits sheepishly, of the inspiration behind the track. “I wrote a song about my feelings, that gave me confidence to confess [them], got rejected, but felt fine about it, because at least I was honest.”
“If” is out now.
