The Line of Best Fit
Here’s an exclusive clip of country-tinged duo Joy Williams and John Paul White holed up backstage performing a candid cover of The Jackson 5 mega hit ‘I Want You Back’.
Stripped entirely of its dancefloor imploding roots, the Jackson staple – immortalised further via Cleopatra’s devastating 1998 cover version (the trio amazingly still exist as a group) – is revisited by The Civil Wars who take the song’s yearning lyrical content and set it against a solemn backing. Really rather lovely.
