Birmingham four piece Superfood, who made their name last year through supporting fellow grungers Peace and JAWS, have released a sprightly new video for “TV”.
It’s an angry track, accompanied visually by boyish frontman Dom Ganderton shrieking at us from inside a TV. He’s also surrounded by bad 80s shirts and head-bopping mates, all shot in a retro grainy format. Sounds horrible surely?
Nah. It’s obvious that these kids are going for a manic, Fugazi-type vibe minus the despairing hatred, the entertaining chorus projecting, “I can’t sleep without the TV”, and it’s hard not to like the Pavement-style clunky riffs.
“TV” is a stellar effort, destined to become one of the band’s live favourites.
