Watch: Saintseneca – “Happy Alone” [Premiere]
Columbus, Ohio-based by way of Appalachia, indie-folk quartet Saintsenenca present the harmonious “Happy Alone,” premiering today on Best Fit.
-Many songs detail moments of inertia in the face of loss; this one offers an unassuming bit of joy in the way it shambles forward with wounded yet cautiously optimistic momentum. Frontman Zac Little’s voice is tinged with a rawness that recalls Dan Bejar’s more subdued moments.
“Happy Alone” precedes the release of Dark Arc, a full-length album anticipated via ANTI- on 31 March. Directed by Christopher Good and co-produced with Megan Mantia, the video follows a day in the life of a man whose head is engulfed in a giant bubble: the perfect visual metaphor for navigating life after loss.
