Watch: Lilacs & Champagne – “Shower Scene” [Premiere]
The first in a new series of releases from Lilacs & Champagne sees Emil Amos and Alex Hall further develop their penchant for tape loops and nostalgia. Inspired by the classic Marvel comic series ‘What If?’, Midnight Features sees the duo seek to place themselves into various musical eras, expanding and perverting each new stylistic context they land in.
-The first track lifted from Midnight Features premieres today at Best Fit. Inspired by the background music from 1970s TV shows, “Shower Scene” features frenetic solos, sleazy funk lines and jazz-influenced sounds that subtly lurk behind the tales of crime, drama and passion.
Lilacs & Champagne hit the road this March with an expanded live band and will be touring Europe in support of Midnight Features which drops via Mexican Summer on 7 April. Check the full list of dates below.
