2013 saw Londoner Kwes release his superb album debut ilp. to much critical acclaim, and latest track release “Rollerblades” boasts his trademark silky, understated vocals alongside an incredibly catchy melody.
The songwriter/producer’s real talent lies both with his unique vocal sound and an unusual ability to create intricate layers of sound. With a snazzy new video directed by MOBO triple-winner Ian Pons Jewell, “Rollerblades” is a truly progressive step from his previous hit, “Bashful”.
A genuinely intriguing artist pushing sound boundaries, Kwes’ music is that of endearingly tentative singer meets confidant producer.
