As Kanye West and Jay-Z trail-blaze the UK on the back of their collaborative LP Watch The Throne, it was perhaps Odd Future affiliate (although that association has always done him an injustice) Frank Ocean that’s the one who steals the show on last year’s joint-album from the rap titans.
So while thousands are going wild in arenas up and down the country, Ocean has dropped this sombre and heartfelt solo performance as a comfort to all those stuck at home. It’s possibly as far away from a rap concert as you can get.
Not entirely a fair trade to seeing Yeezy live, but this new track ‘Summer Remains’ is good enough to not make us flood our Twitter feed with jealousy-brimmed complaints.
