Watch: Dream Lake – “World of Dreams” [Premiere]
Dream Lake, a Stockholm-based duo comprised of vocalist/pianist Isabella Svärdstam and multi-instrumentalist Niklas Willar Lidholm, demonstrate their dream-pop prowess on the euphoric new track “World of Dreams”.
Serving as a welcome follow-up to the Scandinavian duo’s Dream Lake EP from 2013, “World of Dreams” is instantly made buoyant by hazy smears of fuzzed-out guitar and drifting piano. Even though the track evokes a dreamlike atmosphere, it never evaporates into the sugary ether. Svärdstam’s hushed vocals ground and guide the listener through this dreamscape. Try nestling this warm, timeless breath of dream-pop perfection between “A Letter to Elise” by The Cure and Beach House’s “Wishes” on a playlist and be carried away by springtime longing.
“World of Dreams” is released via independent label 100 Songs. Be sure to check in with the Dream Lake’s website and Facebook page for future music announcements.
