Watch: Chet Faker – Love & Feeling (live session) [Best Fit Premiere]
Having made his mark with a soulful cover of Blackstreet’s ‘No Diggity’ and featuring on fellow-countryman Flume’s brilliant ‘Left Alone’, this live session from Chet Faker proves him more than worthy of going it alone.
Filmed at the Newsted Butter Factory in rural Victoria, it is hard to avoid ‘knife through butter’ similes describing the sound of ‘Love & Feeling’, the third and final video from the sessions; Faker’s vocal remains smooth and unfazed throughout the laid-back bluesy melody, even when the track builds to its heady crescendo. Enjoying almost knowing glances, the band glide through a moment of reggae and clever hints of dissonance to a blissful final chorus and gently barefooted wah-wah solo. Another example of why we are feeling nothing but love for the Melbourne native.
