Watch: Anneka - "End Of It" [Premiere]
Brighton-based Anneka, a purveyor of alternative pop experiments, is lighting the touchpaper on the new video for "End Of It", an a cappella unsettler about armageddon-based nightmares.
Her silver-plated voice has left an impact on tracks by Forest Swords, Falty DL, LONE and Blue Daisy, but now as Anneka emerges into her own skin, we're seeing a chilling sonic identity form from - for the most part - vocals and nowt much else. She creates the energy and depth and complex emotional torment of an entire choir using only her own pipes and a whole lot less piety.
Speaking about the track, Anneka says:
""End Of It", an a cappella track, is based on recurring dreams of the apocalypse. A vocal soundtrack that swells with tension, breathless stabs and soaring harmonies. It gives a taste of what’s to come from [me] in 2015. The accompanying video was created entirely by [me] and continues the theme of a surreal and destructive dreamscape. Nearly all the visual effects were created pre-edit by slivers of light hitting various moving materials."
