Vida Sophia releases euphoric and genre-defying single "Nothing Can Stand In Your Way"

Following last year's critically acclaimed debut EP Soundtrack which saw Vida Sophia explore the nuances and intricacies of electro-pop, new single "Nothing Can Stand In Your Way" features more live instrumentation, but doesn't hold back on the experimentation.

With support from BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music, Barat's 2017 is already off to a good start, of the new track she explains "the song is about allowing yourself to let go of expectations and live as you are. At a certain age most people feel like they should have achieved this or that - myself included. 'Nothing Can Stand In Your Way' is an ode to the joy of living and to simply being as you are."

The melody of the chorus is reminscent of massive, almost cheesy, early 00s pop tunes, but works so well here between the psychadelic guitars and wonderous backing vocals. Taken from a new EP, set for release this spring, we can't wait to hear more of Barat's musical majesty.
