Ulysses Wells debuts rip-roaring new track “What It Takes”
The Oxfordshire native returns with a big, fat ball of gritty rock and roll.
The name Ulysses automatically brings to mind Homer’s Epic Cycle and the key character there in. Our young Odysseus is not, however, a hero of the Trojan War renowned for his intellectual brilliance rather a guitar maverick and hoarse vocaliser from a nowhere town in Oxfordshire.

On “What It Takes” elements of QOTSA and Audioslave rub shoulders with The Black Keys and '60s gospel, creating a sonic mash up that at first is difficult to digest but once consumed fully is both palatable and rather refreshing.
