Watch: Two Skies – “Hyperventilation” [Premiere]
Sheffield psych-rock trio Two Skies have revealed their dreamy new video for “Hyperventilation”, taken from their forthcoming EP Red out today. It premieres on Best Fit.
-The track hears the band tripping down the increasingly trodden psych-rock path – the song packed with souped up guitars and huge, drugged-out riffs. Following the lineage of the likes of Hawkwind, Tame Impala and, more latterly, Temples and The Wytches, the band’s sound was forged through late night jams and David Lynch films.
Darker and more spaced out that many of their contemporaries, “Hyperventilation” is immediately engaging, swathed as it is in a wash of reverb-soaked guitars and hypnotic basslines. Dan Cutts’ urgent, coaxing vocal sits atop, delivering the kind of songwriting that leaves you craving for more.
Visually, “Hyperventilation” sees Two Skies draped in a swirling mass of purple and black, acting as a fitting accompaniment to the track’s brooding nature.
Red is released today. The band play the following dates:
28 March – Plug, Sheffield
26 April – Abandon, Manchester
17 May – O2 Academy Sheffield, Sheffield
