Tusks release atmospheric ballad “Dissolve” from their upcoming debut album
One Little Indian’s latest signing Tusks conjures images of destruction over a lush gothic soundscape on "Dissolve".
Atmospheric and reflective, “Dissolve” is the title track from the debut album of Tusks, an all-encompassing project from singer songwriter, visual artist and producer Emily Underhill. Cutting through a bed of reverb-heavy guitars and recalling the sonic landscapes of Cocteau Twins and The Cure, Underhill contemplates the destruction wrought by a toxic relationship with evocative, and sometimes uncomfortable, imagery: “you’re acid, you’re eroding me/by loving you I’m incomplete”.

Underhill understands the importance of music as a space for listeners to inhabit: "I can have something going in in my life and listen to a song and totally relate that song to me – it's like that artist is sharing that experience with me and creating a soundtrack to my life. I take a lot of inspiration from cinematic music in the creation and production of my music and maybe that's why that idea sits with me more – it creates a closer connection between the listener and the record".
