Skirting a peculiar but very satisfying sound, Tristen Gaspadarek finds fertile soil for someone who began writing and recording at the age of 14.
The Nashville-based singer-songwriter delivered a confident debut with 2011′s Charlatans at the Garden Gate which pushed all the right buttons for progressive folk-pop; mature songwriting, credible lyrics and even an infusion of the more traditional sounds of her local area.
There’s always a clear sense of what she grew up listening to (shades of Tegan and Sara pop up unobtrusively) and an ever clearer sense of how that’s been integrated into her sound. New track. ‘No One’s Gonna Know’ comes from the forthcoming C A V E S, which finds Stephen Hague (who we’ve always loved for his work on some of New Order’s finest singles including ‘True Faith’ as we as Blur’s ‘To The End’.
Tristen has hooked up with Kickstarter to release the record via her own label, PupSnake Records.
