Trevor Sensor reveals new lost dog-inspired B-side "Villains and Preachers"
Free-roamin' country man Trevor Sensor has lifted the lid on his new B-side "Villains and Preachers".
It's the frustrated acoustic flipside to "The Reaper Man", and is supposedly inspired by a canine vagrant.
With an acrid tongue, Sensor lobs vinegar into his Midwest surrounds. Backed by mournful acoustics, its a remarkably harrowing cut, but one that veers away from the head-held-high hope of the A-side - nevertheless, Sensor conjures beauty from his fraught emotions.
Explaining the track, Sensor said: "this song was written after a long walk home from the bar a little after two in the morning. A lost dog followed me for a couple blocks and I sang to him. He got sick of me after a while, though, and took off. So the song's about that, my friend Jeremy and a couple other things."
Sensor's debut single is out now via One Too Many Records.
