It takes confidence to strike out with simplicity, but that's exactly what stripped back dance duo The Pressure nail on debut single "Feel No Pain".
"Feel No Pain" sees The Pressure fuse simple elements – hushed vocals, tentative chords, noodling guitar, crisp beats – to set a clear tone, nonetheless engaging for its admirable restraint. The pair's sound has elements of Bloc Party and LCD Soundsystem, yet sits in a similar niche to the minimal alt-pop of rising star MINKE. "Feel No Pain" is a masterclass in how not to overthink electronic music, and the result has astonishing clarity and depth.
"Feel No Pain" is out 13 March.
