The Night Café continue their indie ascent with "Time”
Indie pop is there to put a smile on your face, get you on your feet and riff worries away. The Night Café have the recipe to fulfil all three.
Born out of the same space as Dan Croll and Circa Waves, it’s no surprise really that the Liverpudlian four - Sean Martin, Josh Higgins, Arran O'Connell, and Dan Fell - have found a formula for glittering, euphoric indie since teenage tale “Growing Up” appeared in early 2015 and immediately enjoyed heavy online rotation.
And growing up they are. This latest cut recalls the likes of Two Door Cinema Club and nods to the stand-alone genre leaders The 1975, as a twinkling guitar line frenetically twists and turns towards the sun-kissed earworm of a chorus.
The bare drum-and-bassline verses, complete with crunching six-string punctuation and relatable, youthful themes, ensure “Time” is packed with perfect indie ingredients for fans of the aforementioned outfits.
With summer fast approaching, The Night Café continue to put smiles on our faces with their euphoric brand of indie. Streaming as a Best Fit Premiere below, their time is now.
The Night Café play Liverpool Sound City on 29 May and the Time/Together single is available to download from iTunes and stream on Spotify now.
