The Crookes welcome in the festive season with new song "You Bring The Snow"
December is here: the month of glad tidings, good will to all men, and, of course, Christmas songs. Ahead of a special seasonal tour, The Crookes have shared new single "You Bring The Snow".
Harking back to the magic and excitement that filled the Christmas season when you were young, "You Bring The Snow" recreates that childlike sense of wonder with a fond nostalgia that warms the heart. Refrains jingle with contagiously festive cheer, punchy rhythms as contagious as the shimmering riffs that soar over them.
“The innocence and excitement of Christmas when you’re young is something far more magical than when you’re in your twenties,” Daniel Hopewell expresses. "One of my favourite Christmas songs ever is Low’s ‘Just Like Christmas’. It has this amazing line in that goes 'the beds were small but we felt so young.' That line has always got me."
“Tom had come up with this melody that seemed inherently sentimental," he continues, "so it made sense to write a song about that feeling - of perhaps putting aside adult cynicism and just embracing it like you did as a child.”
"You Bring The Snow" arrives accompanied by a video that brings the celebration to life in the way that only The Crookes can.
If that weren't festive enough on its own, The Crookes tour the UK this month performing a special festive set to celebrate the season. Complete with a Christmas tree, mince pies, and a set list that includes Slade and Mariah Carey, these shows are set to be quite unlike any other. Full details can be found below.
