Having announced their return earlier this year, The Antlers are set to follow up 2009’s breath taking, heart breaking debut Hospice with forthcoming full length Burst Apart.
With such a beautiful album already under their belts, the Brooklyn based trio have a lot of expectations to live up to and that is where ‘Parantheses’ comes in. The first taster from their new record, the track opens with an eerie, swirling cacophony of abstract noise before Peter Silberman’s smooth, shrill and fragile voice soon calms the dark nature of the minimal instrumentation. Stunningly awkward and oddly fragile, you should definitely have a listen.
Burst Apart is due out on 13 June via their new UK home at Transgressive Records.
