Experimental noise-rock trio Tayne combine glitchy visuals and abrasive synth textures on “Open Up"
Lifted from the band’s debut album Breathe, which they self-released in 2018 via Strange Brew Records, the release of “Open Up” rounds off a successful year for London-based Tayne, who supported LA noise-rockers HEALTH on tour earlier this year.
With its pulverizing beats, intense guitar riffs and explosive pay-off, Tayne's “Open Up” is a vital, cathartic listen. Dark synth sequences and chaotic breakdowns flood the track, while the fractured visuals (created by Matthew Sutton of the band) are reflective of their blistering live performance.
Blurring the lines between the genres of industrial, synth-pop, shoegaze and alternative, Tayne are fueled by a strong DIY aesthetic. They've spent the majority of 2019 playing live shows, writing and recording new material, and with their previous record Breathe boasting the mixing and mastering credits of Barra Enright and TJ Lipple (St. Vincent, Fugazi, Bikini Kill), their new offerings look set to be equally as polished and punishing a listening experience, having enlisted the recording skills of Wayne Adams (Big Lad, Pet Brick)
