Tancred reveals thumping new track "Something Else"
Tancred reveals contagious, guitar fuelled track, "Something Else"
Jess Abbott, aka Tancred, is one of the few great guitar-led artists worth listening to in 2018.
Her latest single "Something Else", welcomes a mix of fuzzy, washed out guitars that propel her vocals, which mildly sound similar to Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino.
That goes for the melodies too. Tancred's skill of finding an infectious hook among the chaotic instrumentals is only proved once more in the new track.
"Something Else" fuses a mixture of reverb and twangy guitars that almost sound submerged, and renews that American high school nostalgic vibe.
The sugar coated vocals contrast beautifully with Abbott's lyricism, and her upbeat sound is as infectious as ever.
