TALU tackle toxic relationships in their synth-infused indie-pop single “Butterflew”
TALU’s second offering “Butterflew” sees the trio delve deeper into their dreamy guitar pop sound.
Dripping with soft, shimmering electronic undertones and polished guitar-driven melodies, “Butterflew” is a strong and slick slice of indie pop. Whilst its lyrical content touches on negativity and virulent relationships, the airy, more lighthearted quality the instrumentation gives contrasts with the subject matter to create an emotional and soaring piece of music.
Undeniably catchy with a fantastically epic chorus, the song is certainly one that will stand its ground amongst influential artists within the genre.
Speaking of their latest offering, TALU's vocalist Will Martins explains how the track details the breakdown of a toxic relationship. “Relationships can be so cyclical these days and ‘Butterflew’ is about a person who’s trying to go with their head, not their heart, and not lapse back into the old and unhealthy routine,” he says.
