Taffy Trouble get in your face with “Backseat Driver”
Sometimes we need a bit of brilliantly plastic pop. An infectious earworm that wiggles its way between the ears and beds-in with an unexplainable persistence. Taffy Trouble know a thing or two about this.
The brand new London duo, made up of school friends Alex and Ella, have revealed a cheeky, sickly-sweet DIY debut, winking over to the colourful world of PC Music.
It’s a track that wastes no time, bouncing straight into its hypnotic chorus, which sets the tone with its sassy, know-it-all feel and sparse electronic, computer game co-production work from Neil Comber (M.I.A., Charli XCX).
Following this first taster, Taffy Trouble have teamed-up with Dimitri Tikovoi (Nicola Roberts, CuckooLander) for their debut EP, set for release in early next year, and if “Backseat Driver” is anything to go by, it’ll be one of the most in-your-face and infectious pop works we’ve heard in some time.
