Syd B's "Free" is a confidence boost delivered with sultry flair
Syd B's new track "Free" is an empowering track that advocates individuality.
LA's Syd B is a soulful singer who promotes female empowerment and strives for utilising her individuality to project positivity.
"Free" is another taste of Syd B's tranquil, yet seductive tones that ooze with honesty, and sees the singer/songwriter use her recent discoveries and obstacles to provide a track that is a confidence boost to her listeners.
Built on a minimalistic electronica beat, "Free" is a silky, warped track that could easily reside next to Jai Paul and Twin Shadow.
Speaking about her latest offering, Syd B explains, “While I spent some time in the UK earlier this year, I had several self-discoveries and I think "Free" captures the essence of that. I made a choice to leave something that wasn't serving me anymore while in London and went to stay up north. I've always been one to put others before myself, but sometimes too much of that can be harmful. I found a balance. I found who I was and realized how powerful I can be on my own and truly myself, even in a place that's not my home.”
Produced by Britain's NARX, "Free" follows on from Syd B's other empowering offering, "Feel Love".
