Stream Swampmeat's debut album Gin & Tonic
Birminghams finest rock and roll outfit are releasing their debut album this Friday, and you can hear it in full now.
Compiled from Swampmeat’s long-lost albums (originally given limited release on ColdRice Records), Gin & Tonic is a storming collection of songs from a band who've long cemented themselves as favourites on the live circuit.
Incorporating an affinity for the blues and a country twang, Swampmeat bring a classic sound careering into the twenty-first century. From the swinging rhythm of "Brand New Cadillac" through the nonchalant swagger of "Right Here" to the uproarious distortion of "I'm A Fucker, Not A Fighter" and beyond, Gin & Tonic is rock and roll at its most freewheeling.
Toe tapping, hip shaking anthems of the highest order, each track is laced with an explosive energy it's impossible to ignore. A seemingly perfect soundtrack to swigging on beer while cutting loose and feeling fancy free, Gin & Tonic is an intoxicating romp along down and dirty refrains - and it's one hell of a joyride.
"Gin & Tonic is a sort or warts and all Swampmeat anthology from the past decade," frontman Dan Finnemore describes. "We are lucky enough that PNKSLM gave enough of a shit to put it out there and the response so far has been rad. Me and T-Bird [Jones, drums & charm] cut those tracks in various states of consciousness before I moved Stateside and we're still pretty proud of em."
