Watch: Solomon Grey - "Choir To The Wild" [Premiere]
London duo Solomon Grey return with the innovative video for “Choir To The Wild”, premiering today on Best Fit.
“Choir To The Wild” is a simple song by most any standard; it’s equal parts full, fleshy piano chords, delicately swelling strings and harmonies stacked to sound like a small army of Justin Vernons trying desperately to save your soul. But these basic elements become enmeshed to such a degree that the whole thing begins to feel epic and grandiose, a natural fit for any soundtrack.
That audio splendor is joined by the kind of visual experimentation Solomon Grey have never shied away from—check the retro abstractionism of “Last Century Man” or the ultra-experimental Google cube for “Electric Baby”. The duo make no exception here, exploring the world via paperweight, cutting precisely from relatively straightforward shots of Joe Wilson working his vocal magic to aerial drone footage to colourful, abstract shots in time with the beat.
