Next month, the exciting 20-year-old New Zealand-based Marina Sakimoto is to release her debut EP as Shunkan.
“Dust In Your Eyes” is the second track to be revealed from the release and proves a twisting, irregular counterpart to her pumping, rhythmic first cut, “Wash You Away”.
Where “Wash You Away”‘s lo-fi punk sensibilities recalled Waxahatchee, “Dust In Your Eyes” strays more towards Björk on the weird spectrum, and has guitars that would slot right into Foals’ debut album.
The full EP comes out on cassette on 5 May via Art Is Hard Records, complete with fold-out card artwork. Pre-order here.
