ShitKid level up with the gritty “Get Jealous”
“Get Jealous” is proof that ShitKid have come a long way since the project started with Åsa Söderqvist making lo-fi demos in her car. Now a duo with the addition of Lina Molarin Ericsson, they’ve also acquired some famous fans.
Swedish duo ShitKid had the opportunity to hang out with those friends in recording studios this year around their SXSW show, resulting in their new single “Get Jealous”, made with help from Paul Leary of Butthole Surfers and Josh Freese of DEVO.
Musically, “Get Jealous” is another sign of how far they’ve moved from those stripped back, lo-fi days. Picking up where last album [DETENTION] left off, the single proves that ShitKid are a band with real muscle that they flex confidently on this gritty, grungy track that growls like a truck engine. It's paired with a lighter melody, making “Get Jealous” something in the world of supercharged alt-rock.
