SHELLS offers up uplifting new folk-pop track "Jailbird"
SHELLS shares bewitching pop jewel "Jailbird", another fabulous preview of upcoming debut EP SHAPES.
The ambitious singer/songwriter glues disparate layers together as she produces yet another gorgeous sliver of forward-thinking pop that grabs you by the heart. SHELLS mixes folk beats and Disney raindrop hooks with hope-oozing vocals on the cut, making a gorgeously uplifting tune full of power and wriggly earworms. It follows "Gold" and "Jagwar", which you should definitely listen to as well.
“The story's in the title really. We used lots of live instruments in the studio, percussion, cut-up cymbals, chest-slaps and claps, humming, and Kora sounds,” says SHELLS. "It was great fun creating and building delicate and minimal music underneath such a feisty lyric. It's one of my favourites."
SHELLS' debut EP SHAPES is due out 25 November via 5/5.
