Scarlet Rascal fuse the alien with the familiar on "Strange"
Scarlet Rascal are debuting "Strange", a raucous, frenetic taste of their upcoming first album.
The four-piece will release their debut, self-titled record next month via Geoff Barrow of Portishead's Invada Records.
"Strange" is a spiny mesh of post-punk and noise-rock, with Talking Heads-esque vocals and pummelling percussion. It's melodic and stuffed with grooves, but it's frequently alienating, with wiry riffs stabbed in at odd angles - Scarlet Rascal refuse to conform on "Strange", forging their own path onwards with their own ideas held close.
Scarlet Rascal is out 30 September via Invada.
