Sauropod tease debut album with "Headphones" [Premiere]
Despite its title, the new track from Norwegian trio Sauropod is purpose built to be blasted loud.
Racing energy, break out guitar refrains, and a chant-a-long chorus make "Headphones" an anthem that can't be contained. Vigorous and contagious, the track journeys ies through the city streets with a blustering confidence. Raging riffs power the song from its core, overpowering any other sense from the get-go.
"We’ve never made songs in the studio or at the computer like a lot of songwriters do," the band say of their recording process. "We try to make them work immediately in the room we’re playing in."
Short, succinct, and storming, This first taste of Sauropod's debut album shows that immediacy is certainly in no short supply. The three-piece's distortion-fuelled punk rock demands to be heard - blast it loud and shake your hair without a care, and for the next two minutes let "Headphones" have all the control.
Roaring At The Storm is released via Riot Factory on 22 January.
