Emerging vocalist Rosie Lowe last appeared on London producer, Lil Silva’s ‘No Doubt‘ at the height of summer.
Now the obsessive Lowe, also from London, is back with her first original cut ‘Me & Your Ghost’, taken from her forthcoming debut EP Right Thing. A collaborative effort with heavyweight producer-musicians Kwes and Dave Okumu, ‘Me & Your Ghost’ sets the tone for what looks to be another gem of a record via the guys at 37 Adventures (ETML, Stay Bless, Astral Pattern).
A talented multi-instrumentalist in her own right, Lowe lays her glossy, looped tones atop a simple, resonating piano motif for near enough a whole minute, before cutting through the haunting ether with the disarmingly soulful riposte, ‘You were busy going underground, when I needed you the most.’ Waves of jarring synth, tinkling bells and cracked beats kick on from there, framing in her voice, the sense of despondency and isolation that comes hand-in-hand with being walked out on.
Right Thing is to be released via 37 Adventures on 2 December. Catch Rosie live, the following day at Birthdays.
