RIVRS take on Fleetwood Mac and win
If you're gonna take on a Fleetwood Mac cover, you'd better have balls about it. If that song is "The Chain", they'd better be big, tattooed and shiny.
You might remember Atlantic Records-signed London trio RIVRS from the remix they put out of labelmate Charli XCX's "Famous" back in May and now they're back with solid take on the Mac's classic anthem.
"We covered ‘The Chain’ because Fleetwood Mac are one of our favourite bands," the band tell us. "We love the emotion in the song and wanted to do our own electronic take on the track. We also made it more minimal, stripping it down and taking away harmonies. It’s a massive song to cover which made it a little bit daunting, but we love the song so much we had to give it a go."
The band formed as two-piece in 2013 and fleshed out to became three a year later. "We love making dark electronic music with emotion," they say. "Our songs are about love, lust, and loss. We’re inspired by bands like The Cure, Depeche Mode, Everything But The Girl, but also newer artists like SBTRKT, Purity Ring and The xx."
