New York's Rebounder creates a sorrowful, but soaring ode to being alone on "Meet Me At The Bar"
Inspired by a breakup and the hollow shell of bar, Dylan Chenfeld aka Rebounder turns sorrow and emptiness into this stirring new anthem.
Born and raised in New York, Chenfield grew up on indie, from classics to the future classics of the 2000s. The singer/producer does everything with his own DIY ethos. His style is simplistic, in the best way: he tells his story, turns it into a captivating three-minute-long song and then, he essentially just leaves.
His third single to date, "Meet Me At The Bar", paints a picture of the highs and lows of running through life in New York City. Alone and waiting for everything to inevitably catch up with you. Thought up in a bar which was going through its own transitionary stage, between owners and a new lick of paint, Chenfeld and friends found themselves drinking among the paint cans.
"It was behind a false door, and it felt a bit like a journey to get there" he explains. "It felt a bit like you were removed from the madness of the city, even though it was just one wall between, the vibe was like the last bar on earth. I was going through a breakup, which is what the song is about, it all just locked in and made sense."
