R&B-pop newcomer Mabel shares debut track "Know Me Better"
New pop upstart Mabel has unveiled her debut track "Know Me Better".
Raised in Malaga, London and Stockholm, Mabel has been writing already for 14 years - and she's only 19. With parents as gifted and musically inclined as Neneh Cherry and Massive Attack producer Cameron McVey, her burgeoning talent was nurtured, and she was exposed to tour life, the pulse of a working studio, and the constant hum of jazz. Despite all this, she was reluctant at first to showcase any of her innate talents, only displaying her songs a few years ago for the first time.
Now she has though, there's no going back - "Know Me Better" is a thrilling piece of R&B-splashed pop, fusing classic hip-hop beats with slick keys. There's a glut of R&B up-and-comers around at the moment, but Mabel infuses hers with a unique sense of space, texture and ambition that makes her first single a must-hear.
