Philco Fiction talk (and brag) about potential on new track "Talk/Brag" [Premiere]
Following the singles “Bodies” and “June 17”, Norwegian duo Philco Fiction are back with a third taster for their second album Talk/Brag, due out early next year on Killing Moon Records.
The Oslo-based band have chosen to premiere the title track “Talk/Brag” with us, and it’s yet another example of Philco Fiction’s classy synth pop. Of the track, singer Turid Alida says “'I’m a lover, lover, lover. I’m a force. I’m a mother. And I’m never, never, never gonna let you down - leave you alone.' Talk/Brag is the title track of our forthcoming album. We wanna talk about our place in this world. We wanna brag about our potential as human beings. Tell everyone we are here to love. Tell everyone we want a piece of it. Did someone whisper ‘Airwolf'?”
To these ears it’s a smooth R&B track dressed in 80s pop clothes, the melodies guided by Alida’s effortlessly cool vocals which glide over the slow jam, always in control – not quite bragging, but damn confident.
