Partner celebrate their "Personal Weekend"
“Part teenage diary, and 100% queer, Partner is unflinching in its exploration of intimacy, friendship, sexuality, drugs, and the existential predicament of being a lesbian barista in the year 2016.” As mission statements go, Sackville, New Brunswick’s Partner seem to have it sorted.
Comprising of Lucy Niles and Josée (Choder) Caron the duo have been making people sit up and take notice since their first single "Hot Knives" emerged late last year, and was quickly followed up by the grungy "The 'Ellen' Page".
The track, which clocks in at just under 1:50 was accompanied by a video created using creative commons footage of the titular Canadian actor, seemingly dancing along to the band. It wasn't too long until Page, a fellow Maritimer, found out about the track and quickly shared the video amongst her followers on social media.
Today we are pleased to unveil the lyric video for the band's new single “Personal Weekend”, a gloriously exuberant celebration of the mid-week weekend and the wonders of shift-work. A refreshing short sharp shock to the system, Partner seem intent in proving that two minutes is all you need to get your point across and get the party started.
