London brothers Over Sands delight with the majestic "Two Cranes", taken from debut EP
Back in February 2014 we received an email from a little-known band called Over Sands. Immediately taken by the dreamy sounds of "Tune Out" ("written in a beach house situated in a nature reserve in Essex") we simply had to put a spotlight on the mysterious new duo.
Now the London-based brothers unveil the billowing and majestic "Two Cranes" ahead of their debut self-titled EP and their very first live show later this month.
Speaking about the track, the band says: "Two Cranes began life in a cold, dark railway arch in south London. It was really just a title and a drum loop.
"Only when we left the city a few months later to write and record in a beach house on England’s east coast did the idea became a fully fledged song.
"Written over the course of a day, we couldn’t have predicted the extent to which our surroundings would influence the sound and feel of the track. Looking back, it couldn’t have been made anywhere else."
Over Sands’ debut EP is released on 20 November via B3SCI in digital and limited edition 12″ clear vinyl (pre-order). The EP launch party is on 25 November at The Sebright Arms, London, with Eliza Shaddad and Clas Tuuth. Free entry available by signing up to Eventbrite.
