Oscar Lang is tired of being indoors in playful new single "Get Out"
With his new EP Hand Over Your Head to be released in September, Dirty Hit signing Oscar Lang keeps up the momentum with the lockdown anthem and self-directed visuals for new single "Get Out".
Playful and psychedelic with a generous scoop of brit-pop spirit, "Get Out" is a punchy new release by 20-year-old multi-instrumentalist and producer Oscar Lang. Signed to label of the moment Dirty Hit, the accomplished young artist has consistently proven himself to be a class act with his unique blend of tongue in cheek commentary and classic indie riffs becoming increasingly popular.
Indeed, in several ways Lang's latest single proves to be no different and, whilst in the same breath, marks a step forward for the artist in terms of clarity, catchiness and sheer attention to detail. Speaking about the track, Lang explains “‘Get Out’ was written in January but since then it’s taken on a whole new meaning. Originally I wrote it as a song to myself, to try and get myself outside a bit more. But now because of COVID-19, I guess the song actually applies to everyone!”
The track is accompanied by a delightful self-directed video that, having been crafted over lockdown, further contributes to the DIY charm and laidback aesthetic of Lang’s brand. Essentially, it is its simplicity and vaguely grungy vocal performance that "Get Out" particularly shines, showcasing Lang’s carefully honed indie twang. Having already worked with an impressive number of rising artists including Sports Team, Alfie Templeman, girl in red and more, it seems only plausible to now look towards Lang as party of the new guard of indie.
