Bristol indie-rockers New Carnival share new single “Run For Cover”
“Run For Cover” sees the Bristol-based three-piece take things in a slightly different direction, swapping their love song-touting guys with guitars imagine for a sleeker sound and cryptic lyrics on, well, the absolute state of things!
“Run For Cover” opens with muted hums and a gently finger-snapped beat, acquiring a smooth bassline somewhere along the way. With a rousing build à la Rag ’N’ Bone Man, and a howling vocal that would give Yannis Philippakis a run for his money, this is a track that really shows what New Carnival are bloody good at. Fans of indie-rock stalwarts like Augustines might even be convinced to try something new once they’ve given this a listen!
“Run For Cover” follows the couple of singles New Carnival delivered through 2016, in the wake of their 2015 EP Where Do You Wanna Go?. Hopefully this year will see plenty more from the group, who’ve already enjoyed a slot playing The Old Blue Last, amongst other iconic venues.
