Moonsville Collective throw an indie-folk hootenanny on “Peace Of Mind”
This is joyous Americana suitable for both communal celebration and quiet moments in solitude.
LA-based Moonsville Collective do things together. Rather, they adhere to an archaic method of songwriting that focuses on community and shared experience in the style train songs and hobo lullabies.
Like 15th century Bavarian stonemasons and Venetian lute makers, Moonsville Collective are craftsmen with a mastery over shape and form at a time where the fundamentals of melody, tonality, and texture are being warped and morphed.
It is the 21st century and boundaries are being pushed in an attempt to convey contemporary struggle and create a vision of a new world, one focused on movements and people. But sometimes, just sometimes, the organic, the grassroots, the simplistic done in a way that respects tradition whilst telling a modern story is the best way to get a message across. On "Peace Of Mind” Moonsville Collective do just that by painting a surprisingly accurate picture of modern day America: humorous with melancholic overtones .
